Misschien niet heel verrassend, maar Grand Theft Auto V is de beste game van het jaar 2013.

Ieder jaar reikt het Amerikaanse tv-station ‘Spike’ de VGX Awards uit. Via een raad van gamecritici en een online poll wordt bepaalt welke games de beste van het afgelopen jaar zijn. Rockstar Games laat met GTA V een hoop stevige concurrenten achter zich: BioShock Infinite, Super Mario 3D World, The Last of Us en Tomb Raider.

Met 7 Guinness World Records op naam van GTA 5, waaronder de meest verkochte game in 24 uur (11,21 miljoen exemplaren), wisten we al dat Grand Theft Auto hoog zou scoren. De eerste verkoopdag leverde Rockstar Games een slordige 815,7 miljoen dollar op. Een paar dagen daarna ging de teller zelfs over de 1 miljard dollar. Niet slecht voor een computerspel!
